Robert Thomason, M.A.

Robert Thomason is the Senior Fellow for the Gender and Leadership course at the Focus Leadership Institute. Robert is fortunate to be joined by his wife, Elena, as she teaches alongside him in the classroom. Robert, a graduate from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, has over a decade of experience working in education. Whether in the secondary classroom, the collegiate lecture hall, or mentoring college students, Robert’s desire is to cultivate and grow the next generation into men and women who will effectively engage and lead the world for Christ. Currently Robert is finishing a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at Azusa Pacific University. His research interests focus on the integrity in college and university presidential leadership.
Robert is a member of the Christian Leadership Alliance. In addition, he has been sharpening leaders through teaching seminars in the subject of strengths by using the Gallup Organization’s Clifton StrengthsFinder since 2006. His work has helped create self-awareness in students, which is a vital component of competent leadership.
Elena, Robert’s wife, has earned a master’s degree in college student affairs from Azusa Pacific University as well as one in counseling from Colorado Christian University. She received her undergraduate education in psychology from Chapman University. Elena’s expertise in college student affairs and counseling provide a unique, personal perspective on the needs of today’s college students.

Personal Summary
Robert & Elena have been married since 2001 and have two children (Trae and Isabel).
